 Braking can actually extend your driving range. When you coast or brake, the regenerative brakes convert the wheels' rotations into electricity, which is stored in the battery for future use. Control paddles behind the steering wheel let you choose from four levels of regenerative braking.
High
Set to higher levels of regenerative braking, and you get higher energy capture when easing off the accelerator pedal by decelerating faster. At the top level, you can fully stop the vehicle without using the brake pedal.
Low
When you set to the lower levels of regenerative braking, you capture less energy but get longer, smoother coasting when you take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
Smart
Activate the Smart Regenerative System, and it automatically adjusts the regenerative braking level according to the speed and distance of the vehicle in front of you.

Built with a higher capacity and greater energy density, it feeds IONIQ 5 with 77.4 kWh of electric power. And it's capable of handling charging speeds of up to 250kW, so you can take advantage of time-saving 800V ultra-fast charging.
